Historic Catholic Cathedral in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines One of the oldest Catholic Cathedrals in the Philippines is the Dumaguete Catholic Cathedral, across from the large beautiful public park in Dumaguete on Perdices St., just south of downtown Dumaguete. The Philippines is the ONLY Christian nation in Asia, and over ninety percent of Filipinos are Christians, the great majority of whom are Catholic. There are hundreds of Protestant denominations in the Philippines, including Philippine churches affiliated with most major U.S.A. church denominations. The Muslim faith is followed by about ten percent of the population. |
